Anonymous Objects
site-specific sculptures
dimensions variable

Ambiguous forms carrying hints of their referential origins are staged in theatrical or ceremonial settings. Together with their constructed surroundings or assumed habitats, they form topography/ecosystems that generate new identities, destabilizing the nature of the habitats and the forms themselves. For example, in Anonymous Object II a bird-like inanimate being occupies a former leather factory and a rural metalsmith workshop and is observed at night as well as in daylight. Its autonomy as an object is interfered by the autonomy of its surroundings and vise versa. A sense of obscurity arises to accommodate new roles that both the object and the environment assume to be at peace as a collective whole.
