Completed in less than five days at a former old-fashioned Korean “coffee shop,” where men hung out, drank, gambled, and received services from women.
This piece is a direct reaction towards the male-dominated and seniority-driven dynamics in daily life and in workspaces, particularly in the field of art. Patriarchal and misogynistic conduct normalized by the hierarchical establishment cannot in any way be defended or legitimized under the context of cultural nuances in our contemporary time. It imposes perpetual violence in the forms of language, behavior, and overall unprofessionalism on the supposedly neutral everyday spaces.
Many thanks to friends and families in Korea, Taiwan, and the United States for your love and support.
