PROJECTS > Location Project: Where the Thing Is

"Location Project: Where the Thing Is is a year-long moving investigation. I have been collecting Poketable Items from my recent trips around Taiwan, the United States, and Hong Kong. These 3 places are important to my personal experience, as they are respectively the place of my birth, where my family resides, and an entity that faces similar social and political dilemma as Taiwan. I document the location, latitude and longitude, time, date, and personal comment of each Item found, and look for traits that could be organized and processed digitally. The Items are then 3D-scanned, remodeled in the computer, and exported out into actual “things” again, carrying new identities: manipulated physical documentations of different places, times, and experiences."
