The Dreams To Come: a prelude

2016

Filmed in Taiwan and Hong Kong since January 2016, The Dreams to Come connects “Outsider” individuals in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Elsewhere. Housing the perspectives of working women and household providers, the film features a Taiwanese-Japanese Grandma, her Indonesian care taker friend, Chinese brides (new immigrants from China that are often married to much older veterans or less-desirable men in Taiwan), an Indonesian domestic helper, the unruly Bangladeshi asylum seeker in Hong Kong, his newlywed Indonesian migrant worker wife, and their newborn baby. The realities lie in the Land of Milk and Honey, those unexpected turns of events never predicted by homes in Elsewhere.
